Avocado Greenie

Cook Time

INGREDIENTS

  • Half an avocado (or a whole if small)
  • 20ml full fat coconut milk
  • 20ml sugar-free almond milk
  • 5-6 large mint leaves
  • 3 sprigs of cilantro
  • 1 squeeze of lime juice
  • A good handful of crushed ice

This Avocado Greenie is a wonderful way to get some extra healthy fat while being cooled down and having your taste buds tickled.

When on the Clean-Living Diet I don’t recommend having traditional smoothies with fruits and milk. The amount of sugars very easily adds up and your cravings for something sweet will start to kick in. This Greenie though will give great nutrients while filling you up and keeping your blood sugar levels stable.

Steps:

  1. Add all ingredients except the ice into a blender and blend until smooth
  2. Add ice and blend together until desired consistency

Serve:

Serve as is or sprinkle a little coconut or blueberries on top.

Anything special to remember:

Try adding spinach, celery, broccoli, zucchini, or any other green vegetables for different tastes and nutrients.

Make sure to find a good organic and sugar-free version of the almond milk. Like always look at the ingredient list. You want it to be as pure and clean as possible. Or even better – make it yourself. Blend water, almond butter, olive oil, and a pinch of salt. Easy!

Benefits:

Avocados are a great source of vitamins C, E, K, and B-6, as well as riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and potassium. They also provide lutein, beta-carotene, and omega-3 fatty acids. Avocados are full of healthy, beneficial fats that help to keep you full and satiated.
