INGREDIENTS
- 50g Tomato paste

- 1 Tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon of onion powder
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of nutmeg
Seriously, who doesn’t love ketchup? I know that our daughter, Anna, does and so do I. The challenge is, that a conventional bought ketchup has a ton of sugar in it and we don’t want to expose our clean bodies to that, especially when it is so easy to make your own.
Steps:
- In a medium saucepan combine all ingredients with a whisk.
- Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer over medium-low temperature for 20-25 minutes, until the ketchup thickens.
- Adjust the taste, by adding more salt and spices if desired.
- Cool, then place in an air-tight container and refrigerate.
Serve:
Wherever you would use ketchup. One of my favourite things where ketchup is a must for me is when having burgers. Take a look at this Tasty Clean Living Burger Recipe.
Anything special to remember:
Can be kept if refrigerated for up to 10 days.
Make sure to get clean tomato paste without any preservatives or added sugars. As with everything else that you buy, look at the ingredient list.
Benefits:
The benefit of this ketchup is that you get rid of the additives and sugars that store-bought ketchups contain.
